After our wedding, Ahmad and I decided to not go on honeymoon just yet and instead we spent two weeks visiting family members in Cape Town and Johannesburg. We thought we’d make the most of our time together in SA and we’d go on honeymoon during the course of the year. (On that note… If you guys have any suggestions as to where we should go, do let us know 🙂 )
Ahmad returned to Oz in Feb and I had to stay behind as I had not received my visa as yet. It felt like it was never going to happen but thankfully, three weeks later, my visa application had finally been approved.
I am now in the sunny state of Queensland and it’s been amazing thus far. Ahmad and my in laws have been incredible to say the least. It really helps to have a supportive family unit, especially since I don’t have family of my own here.
No country is crime-free but there’s definitely a sense of security here. Brisbane has somewhat of a Durban vibe… an organised and cleaner version 😄 (Ahmad’s rolling his eyes as I type this)
The fashion in Bris is very different to that of Johannesburg or any other city that I’ve been to for that matter. The style is extremely laid back and a bit of a shock to my “fashion” system. My super casuals looks have become my daily staples and my daily looks have turned into my “night out” ensembles. So don’t be surprised when the majority of my shoots consists of denims and sneakers 🙂 but for now, here’s our date night ensembles.
